Featuring, the incredibly talented Turkish Clarinet player Gökhan Demirdöğmez.

Bipolar started a while back, but was never finished as “something was missing, something more melodic…”
On the other hand, Gökhan moved from Turkey to London four months ago to extend his musical horizons and create the First Turkish Clarinet School of London.
While preparing his trip, Gökhan came across Hokum Tribe’s Instagram profile. After watching several improvised jam videos, he messaged him to suggest a collaboration.
Bipolar started as joyful bouncy track but quickly shifted into a dystopian wall of sound throughout. The track carried on shifted between these moods which led to the title of the track.

With its mix of sample voices and Hokum Tribe’s own voice, NEXT2U was inspired by the idea of fighting for “keeping the connection between people. It can be relationships, friendships or even with your family.”

After Hokum Tribe finished the track, he suggested it to his long time friend Branden Berg to make a remix. Gary turned NEXT2U into a more DJ friendly energetic tech-house roller.

When composing Tower Block Boy, there was a visual in mind. A kid living his everyday life in a block, comparable to the concrete houses of his childhood Ukrainian neighbourhood of Kharkov.

The arpeggio synth brings you along on this boy’s journey with its future-retro vibe. The voice’s echo bounces back against the ice cold beat.
Tower Block Boy brings a new dimension to this EP as it is the darkest track of Bipolar.
